How do I personalize a campaign?

Introduction to personalization tags

You can personalize the subject line, additional greeting and salutation of your eCard by inserting personalization tags.

When your eCards are sent we dynamically change the tags to display information relevant to each recipient.

For example - in the image below you can see the use of the [firstname] personalization tag in the subject and salutation:

IMPORTANT:  To replace the first name of each of your contacts - use the tag [firstname]. If sending your campaign to more than one recipient - You MUST use the [firstname] tag so that each recipient receives the correct name in their eCard.

You should see the [firstname] tag when previewing your eCard as you can see in the image below.

How do personalization tags work?

When your campaign is sent, we dynamically change the tags to display information relevant to each recipient.

For example - you create a campaign using the [firstname] personalisation tag as per the example above and then send your campaign to multiple people.

When your eCard is received by a contact named Jane she would see her name in place of the personalization tag like in the example below.

What if some or all of my contacts do not contain a first name?

If some of the contacts imported into your list dont contain a first name - then there is an easy work around.

Use a Salutation or that will still make sense regardless of whether a firstname exists. For example:

Season's Greetings [firstname]

What will happen is that IF there is a firstname for a contact in your list - the card will be personalised. If a contact does not contain a first name then the salutation will still make sense because the Salutation will for example be "Season's Greetings Susan" or simply "Season's Greetings".
